Cardio

If you’re looking to lose weight and become healthier in general this is the route to take. Running is one of the most common forms of cardio however there are many other options available. If you prefer to bike or swim those are both great choices when it comes to working out your cardiovascular system and increasing your overall fitness level. It can be more fun to join a fitness group based around your activity of choice if you are a more social person.

Goal: Weight lose, improved endurance, overall fitness.

Play a Sport

Playing a sport is one of the easiest ways to stay motivated in your pursuit of better health. The competition is addicting, motivating you improve your cardio, strength, and diet so that you can play harder. Having others around who are on the same team will help you stay motivated and enjoy yourself as you continue through your journey to better health.

You can mix and match any of these plans. Most of them work well together for those who would like to accomplish more than one of these goals. It is often a good idea to start out slowly at first by choosing one program and easing into it. If you try to take on too much when you first begin you may end up burning out and won’t accomplish any of the goals that you set for yourself.
